About Us

David was born and raised in Bendigo. He was only introduced to horses at the age of 13 when his mother took him with her while she rode her horse. It was then that he was bitten by the insatiable addiction of being with horses.

He started his introduction to Horsemanship with the Parelli Horsemanship program and went on to complete his level three certificate in 2009.

David credits his skills to a number of major influences. Working with Pat Parelli during his Australian tours, Buck Brannaman, Ken Faulkner and Steve Halfpenny have all been major contributors to David’s skills.

David spent many months with Steve learning and watching how to be exceptional.

“Many people are good with horses, not many know how to be exceptional”

Steve Halfpenny is truly one of the exceptional Horseman in Australia.

Steve Halfpenny was one of David’s primary instructors as he was developing his skills. In 2009 Steve asked David to join his team and become an associate Instructor with Silversand Horsemanship.

From there David and his wife Angela and their new daughter Laura have opened their family home to the public and developed the Eppalock Study Centre.

There they run clinics, workshops and private lessons to students wishing to become Horseman.
